Geoffrey points out that flutists must "stretch mentally" to apprecite : their unique qualities. "While it seems flutists like to purchase the latest : bells and whiltles for their new flutes, stretching newness too far tends to : turn flutists into traditionalists." to appreciate 這裡有「來了解」和「才能了解」兩種解讀，要看前後文。 bells and whistles = gadgets 為貶抑詞 Geoffrey 指出，長笛手一定要延展自己的心態才能了解這些特質。「長笛手似乎喜歡買有 最新最炫功能的樂器；但是求新過份長笛手會變為傳統派。」 這「特質」和「變成傳統派」是什麼意思？我就不猜了。 XD (we are all different in the same way.) : 自己試譯如下: : Geoffrey指出,長笛家必須要動動腦來欣賞其獨一無二的特質 : 然而 似乎長笛家喜歡購買最新鈴聲/鐘聲? 且對著全著長笛吹口哨? : 太過仰賴新奇的事物 而讓長笛家變成傳統遵循者 : bells and whiltles 查到是指附加配備? : stretch mentally 這句也想好久才勉強翻出 不知對否? : 還有這句stretching newness too far 也是不懂 : 麻煩版上高手批評與指教 -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc)
