[討論] a deer caught in the headlights
又是這種很難翻的...
a deer/rabbit caught in the headlights
就是在形容你車開在鄉間的大馬路上
突然面前出現一頭鹿
在你的車頭燈刺眼的光芒壟罩之下
無辜的阿鹿或是阿兔整個嚇到無法動彈
大概是這樣子的一個畫面
後來被引申為 措手不及、驚慌失措 之類的意思
不過呢 這裡有段敘述是這樣的:
there was the deer, perhaps a dozen yards away from us in the middle of our
lane of traffic. He was unquestionably a deer caught in the headlights, but he
didn’t have that stunned look the expression is intended to convey.
He was lordly, and very much in command.
簡言之,這頭非比尋常的鹿並不像這句諺語(?)敘述的那樣驚慌失措,
反而是一副君臨天下、氣定神閒的姿態
問題來了:
這要怎麼翻到位阿!!!
他無疑是頭俗話說的「被耀眼的車頭燈定格的鹿」,不過他一點也不像這俗語所要表達的
那樣瞠目結舌、不知所措
這什麼跟什麼啦 (/‵Д′)/~ ╧╧
還真需要很大的恥力才能打得出這兩行字 (  ̄ c ̄)y▂ξ
每次遇到這種該語言才有的表達方式都很頭痛 ~"~
大概是我國文程度不夠好吧 想不出相對應的字眼
只想得到什麼驚弓之鳥、抓姦在床之類
但是意思完全不一樣阿 =,.=
不知各位有沒有什麼想法呢?
